Churchdale Suite Bagshaw Hall

Enjoyable stay with onsite parking. Positive: The room was large and well heated with a very comfortable bed. All the facilities were available in the room. The en suite was a little tired but served it purpose well with an excellent shower. Location was excellent being a stones throw from the centre of town and good parking. Negative: Unfortunately the television did not work properly and the programme selection was poor.

Positive: The comfort of the room

A lovely historic place, with a casual, friendly ambience. Positive: The room was well-equipped, including dining table, chairs and basic kitchen and other supplies; the building was as described in the hotel literature - historic and charming; the staff were friendly and helpful; the town is located in the classic English Peak District countryside. Negative: As indicated in the hotel literature, there was no food available on site, yet walking to cafes and restaurants involved using very steep pathways and roads, not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Parking was very limited, including on the nearby streets, so using the car in the evening instead of walking meant taking the risk of losing a parking space for the night. Breakfast was available only if ordered 24 hours ahead.

Beautiful hall well located - room was huge with lovely view! Positive: Really beautiful hall that you can see from the bottom of the town. Room was spacious and had all the amenities you could need. Bed very comfy. Negative: The lights shining on the hall to illuminate it at night are very bright and lit up our bedroom. They did turn off at 10 or 11pm but until this point were quite a disturbance.

Positive: Very quirky and very central
